Dear Sir/Madam,
I have some scanners which claimed to have “automatic color detection” feature.
As I know, TWAIN 2.1 support such feature. How can I:
1. know whether my scanner on hand support it (e.g. by getting capabilities like ICAP_AUTOMATICCOLORENABLED or something else)?
2. If my scanner support it, how can I enable it during scanning? Currently I set the ICAP_PIXELTYPE to BW (0), GRAY (1) or RGB (2) during scanning. Should the value be different for auto. color detection? Any other step is required? Thanks a lot!
StephenMarkMIf CAP_SUPPORTEDCAPS includes ICAP_AUTOMATICCOLORENABLED, then the capability is present. Setting it to TRUE is sufficient to turn on the feature. There’s an additional capability that decides if non-color data should be output as TWPT_BW or TWPT_GRAY. The determination of what is color and what isn’t color is up to the scanner. Changing it may require access to custom capabilities.
