I am scanning with a Kodak 2400 scanner on a Windows 7 machine, using TWAIN drivers. If I am logged into the machine as a local admin, I can scan just fine. If I am logged in as a regular user, I cannot scan. (If I scan using ISIS drivers, I don’t have a problem, but for my purposes, I have to use TWAIN drivers). I have given full control to the non-admin user to two locations: C:Twain and C:Windowstwain_32. Where else do I need to grant admin permissions so I can scan as a regular user?
What application are you using? Does the ScanValidation program that comes with the i2400 have this problem?
C:Program Files (x86)KodakDocument ImagingScanValidation.exe
The only directory that the driver has to have full access to is:
The installer makes sure that this directory is accessible, but if a given system has customized ACLs it could be fooled.
Yes, we are having the same exact problem when using the ScanValidation program that comes with the i2400. I will try making sure they have rights to C:ProgramDatakds_kodak and see if that works. Thank you.
That folder was the ticket. It works now. Thank you so much for you help!
