All,
I am writing an application in python for a custom application with Epson v800 photo Scanner. I am interested in the transmission mode (which can be setup with twain lightpath option).
However, the default physical dimensions in the transmission mode are 5.6 x 9.7 “. I am interested to scan full 8 x 11 ” in transmission mode for my application.
It seem the Epson Scan software has two settings for films – (a) Film (with Film Holder) : Which is the default setting of transmission mode, and (b) Film (with Film Area Guide): which I am interested in.
My questions is that lightpath only takes two values (0 and 1). Is there any other twain command or setting which is being used here?Further, I looked at the registry and it seems Epson software sets the “Document Type” registry to different values (0 –> Reflective, 1 –> Film with Film holder, and 2 –> Film with Film area guide).
Any advice on how to set this option.
Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
AmitPchemmanI am also having a similar issue. Has anyone figured out how to scan the full size area in transmission for an enabled scanner? It works really well through the Epson native software (which I thought was based on twain), but I can’t seem to find the right option tags to get it to work.
Thanks!
MarkMEpson has a development guide here: http://www.epsondevelopers.com/twain-programming-guide-epson-scan/overview/ It’s possible the information you want is there. It’s also possible that their drivers include custom capabilities (detectable by CAP_SUPPORTEDCAPS values of 0x8000 or higher). However, if such things exist, you’ll need to contact Epson directly for information on how to use them.
LishaI am facing the same problem. I want to get the full area scan with transmission mode. Did you already figure out how it works? I appreciate for any advises.
