Is your XP 32 bit or 64 bit? If the latter, try copying to SysWOW64 folder and test again.
Did you also try on other machines?

An easier way is to use a TWAIN SDK for document scanning, editing and save/upload. Are you writing a desktop or web app?

You can use CAP_CUSTOMDSDATA to check if the source supports setting DAT_CUSTOMDSDATA.
Hi Polo,
Are you developing a desktop application or a web application? Did you try other applications, such as the Scanners & Cameras wizard comes with Windows? If so, how was that going?

TWAIN .NET Component | TWAIN ActiveX/Plug-inIt seems that TWAIN specification doesn’t provide any capability to auto detect the page size. If anyone knows how to achieve this, please let me know.

TWAIN .NET Component | TWAIN ActiveX/Plug-inHi,
If you don’t want to put too much time on learning the TWAIN specification, you can find some tools (ActiveX, Plug-in, .net component, etc) online, which enables to acquire images from your scanner and even more features.

TWAIN .NET Component | TWAIN ActiveX/Plug-inHi,
Have you tried CAP_INDICATORS? You can set the capability to true to display a progress indicator during acquisition and transfer.

TWAIN .NET Component | TWAIN ActiveX/Plug-inHi Kirill,
> Do you know such applications if so why do they need File Transfer Mode instead of others two modes?
Would you please be more specific about this? There are three different modes that can be used to transfer data from the Source to the application: native, disk file, and buffered memory. To get more info about the advantages of each modes, you can refer to TWAIN Specification.

TWAIN .NET Component | TWAIN ActiveX/Plug-inHi,
>After installing the latest drivers sometimes the TWAIN and WIA drivers both show up in the Select Sources dialog, sometimes they do not.
Do you still remember the differences on operations, environments, etc that may lead to the different behaviors of the application?
Also, what OS are you using? If you are using Windows Vista/7, the lack of permission may cause the problem. If this is the case, you can try running the application as administrator to see if helps.

TWAIN .NET Component | TWAIN ActiveX/Plug-inHi PlaGoogleUser,
I’m not sure about this. TWAIN does provide some capabilities to boost the performance of the source. For instance, CAP_AUTOSCAN. The fundamental assumption behind AutoScan is that the device is able to capture the number of images indicated by the value of CAP_XFERCOUNT without waiting for the Application to request the image transfers.

Scanner COM Control | TWAIN ActiveX/Plug-inJanuary 19, 2010 at 5:19 am in reply to: Data sources are disappeared in the Select Source dialog. #25104By the way, what is the templates files for ? Do you mean a Fujitsu scanner specific configurations or something like that ?
When you run your application and select source, the application will read the driver info from the files under C:WindowsTWAIN_32.
If the problem persists after you reinstall the driver, and if the users are using Vista/7/2008, you may ask them to run the application as administrator to see if it works.
