There is some information on this in the TWAIN FAQ [https://www.twain.org/faq.htm].

Look for these sections:

“Is it possible from a TWAIN application to know if a scanner is a flatbed scanner or not?”

“How can a TWAIN Application know whether a Data Source is a Scanner or a Digital Camera?”

There may not be a way to distinguish a digital camera from a webcam.
