Hello! I want to build up my ds,but I don’t know how the .ds file was created. Can you help me? 😯
Hi pamxy – when you say “build up”… do you mean create one? So you want to write a TWAIN driver?
A .ds file is a just .dll that has been renamed to .ds.
“DS” stands for Data Source, which is what TWAIN drivers are officially called, for reasons which I have forgotten.
A Data Source DLL is created by following the specifications given in the TWAIN Specification, which you can download here:
http://twain.org/scannerdriverdevelopers/specification-and-tools.htmlOn that same page is a link to a “Sample Data Source and Application” – this includes source code for a TWAIN driver.
There’s also a C++ framework for a TWAIN driver here:
http://www.eztwain.com/gends.htm
note that this is officially unsupported code, but it has been used to write several commercial TWAIN drivers:- AuthorPosts
