I have been toying with Gustavo’s DelphiTwain component and the sample program. Unfamiliar with the inrtricacies of the component I got stuck in the way to assign parameters to the scanner. I know I can do it via the GUI that comes up during the image acquisition. I want to be able to assign the parameters (via INI files or registry) to the scanner without calling the GUI. How is this done?
I have read the documentation but I need more samples code snippets or direction.
Here is the follow up – I did manage to stop the UI from showing up. I need to set the pixels, the color (I want to make the image grayscale) and the size of the image. How to do this is still beyond me. Until such time when I can have a meaningful response to this thread I will content myself experimenting around. Who knows, some knowledgeable person out there can help me 🙄
how good are you at reading c++ or vb.net code (and converting it to your language of choice)?
I don’t have any experience with that library or with Delphi, but I should be able to help somewhat if your questions are just about how you get and set capability values.also, add setting the units to you list of things you want (need?) to set – setting size of the image (either in terms of resolution or area) is somewhat dependant on the units in use by the device.
.
Thanks Gabe. Slowly but surely I am loearning the intricacies of the TWAIN specs. I could actually call the UI programmatically and adjust the settings, which is then kept somewhere (I am not sure where – in the equipment cache perhaps?).
I am using a card reader (scanshell 800NR). The company has their own SDK but they charge 😥 for the license.
