Is it possible to differentiate different TWAIN device families? ie. Know that a scanner is a scanner and a webcam is a camera device (programatically).
There is some information on this in the TWAIN FAQ [http://twain.org/faq.htm].
Look for these sections:
“Is it possible from a TWAIN application to know if a scanner is a flatbed scanner or not?”
“How can a TWAIN Application know whether a Data Source is a Scanner or a Digital Camera?”
There may not be a way to distinguish a digital camera from a webcam.
Thanks, that helps and I should have looked at the FAQ 🙂
