Our software uses the TWAIN capabilities negotiation to drive the Fujitsu fi-6770 (latest driver PaperStream IP 1.60.0 installed). There is a problem with the ICAP_COMPRESSION capability. The value is not changed according to what is selected on the PaperStream user interface. We could easily reproduced the issue using the TWAIN Sample MFC App (v2.4) from TWAIN website. The ICAP_COMPRESSION capability is “None” but it should be “JPEG” instead.
Also, we are having issues with custom capabilities. To name a few, capability 0x8106 cannot be get even if it is supported by the scanner, and capability 0xA039 fails to be freed after being set. Any file that identifies all Fujitsu’s custom capabilities would be needed to programmatically control them. A hexadecimal number (> 0x8000) means nothing to us. Kodak and Inotec manufacturers provided a definition header for their custom capabilities. It allows us to see the dependencies between these caps, and to reorder or skip some caps.
There are more than a hundred Fujitsu custom capabilities. How are we suppose to manage them without even knowing what they mean?
