VAPIR OXYGEN VAPORIZERdepends on your definition of compliant. typically ‘twain compliant’ just means they have a driver that supports some twain calls. If they’re really on the ball they’ll say which version of the spec that they supoprt. It’s a bit tricky to say a driver isn’t compliant if you don’t get a version number. There was a post a little while back where one of the vendors had put up a website for people to run a tool to check their devices. It resulted in a percentage. Seemed like a good idea, but I don’t think they took into account the version of the spec the vendor was aiming for.
dosadi has a tool that will report what a device supports what it doesn’t and it trys to point out where and how a device isn’t compliant, but I don’t think their tool takes into account the version of the spec either (of course make both tools now offer this, I havent checked in a while.)
In the end you’re left with a bit of a mess, but thats the fun part. If twain were easy then… oh right nevermind…

Thanks for the info. I was a bit vague on the spec. The problem is we are evaluating various sotwares that uses twain to communicate with the scanners. We have purchased scanners in the past, some of which are HP and are trying to determine if they will work with the software. Also we have a need to purchase additional scanners. When I go to HP’s website and look up the models, there isn’t any mention of twain compatablity let alone the version. This isn’t the case with Fujitsu or Ricoh. I was hoping that there would be a one stop website that lists Twain compatable (with version) scanners. I’ll check Dosadi.
