    Dear all,

this is not a 100% TWAIN specific question, but I don’t know where else I could ask.

I am looking for a special kind of scanner hardware. It should work like a standard flatbed scanner, but It should not move the Sensor with the Paper fixed, but have a fixed sensor and move the Paper.

I am thinking about buying a cheap flatbed and disasembling it to try it myself. I wanted to ask, If you know anything that could help me. From phrases to google to a company that offers special scanners everythink would be helpful.

    thanks and bye!

You do not need to rebuild a flatbed scanner. There are several sheet fed scanners on the market from companies like The Neat Company, EPSON, Canon, Fujitsu and others. If you need a special recommendation, please let me know.

    Best regards,

    Kaij

    Thanks for your answer.

The device needs to operate on unflexible objects, too. Paper was not the right word, sorry. I need it for a laboratory application to read barcodes on unflexible sample-holding plates to identify those samples.

    any help is appreciated 🙂

Most of the devices I have mentioned have a straight paper path and can handle unflexible sheets as well. If the material is to thick for a standard paper transport you may consider a camera based solution. If you only need to barcodes I recommend a 2D-Barcode Imager instead of a scanner.
