Hi all,
I’ve implemented an Applet that make scanning request via driver TWAIN. I’m using Ricoh MP 161 scanner.
I would like to start manually the scanning procees from the scanner, but researching the Twain driver specifications I can’t find how to do.
Do you have any idea?
Do you know if there is a capability to set this funcionality??What do you mean by a manual scan? Are you referring to front panel buttons that may exist on your scanner?
Unfortunately, TWAIN doesn’t address anything relating to scanner buttons.
Yes, I’m referring to the front panel buttons.
I think It should be possible because in the user interface of my Ricoh Twain driver there is a checkbox that permit “Start from scanner”.
It is possible for a scanner vendor to implement proprietary features in their TWAIN driver.
TWAIN does not define a way for scanners to initiate the scanning process from the scanner control panel, but any vendor is free to define a means of doing so.
You may want to try asking your scanner vendor if they will share the information with you.
