I’m using Morena Java Twain interface software for the scanning module in our Java application and need to be able to detect and skip blank pages, without having to show the scanner interface. I know my scanner (Canon DR 3080C) has this ability because when showing the interface, I’m able to select mode “Skip Blank Pages”, and then can adjust the ratio of black pixels, which I believe is the threshold it uses to determine what’s considered a blank page. However, when I posted the question on Morena’s forum for how to do this programatically with their software, they replied with the following:
“The situation regarding the ICAP_AUTODISCARDBLANKPAGES is funny. You can find this capability in the Twain 1.9 specification downloaded
from the http://www.twain.org. But when you download the latest twain.h from the same web page, you can see, that this capability is not a part of the specification. We are guided by the contents of the twain.h file.”Why is it omitted from the twain.h file? Thanks.
