I downloaded the latest twain 2.2 zip file. My question is how do I install it on windows 7. I’ve tried simply copying the dll and msm files (64 bit) manually to the windows, windowssystem32, and windowssyswow64 but that doesn’t seem to work. Any ideas?
TIAThe installer places the DSM in the proper location, but all it’s doing is copying the appropriate twaindsm.dll to the appropriate directory. There’s no registry update or anything of that sort.
How have you determined that it’s not working? Are you in control of the application that’s accessing the DSM? Are you sure that it’s not accessing the older twain_32.dll?
Sounds like you need to start off with a little Example Project. This helped me in understanding twain operations, even though for me its still a work in progress.

I ended up converting most of the twain.h file from http://www.twain.org website thats written in C++ to VB.NET.
