The Twainkit can only be installed in 32-bit operating systems. I wonder if you provide any application similar that can be run in 64-bit environment? 🙄
There is a link at the top of twain.org for Sample Data Source & Application
http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=212173There you can find links to both 32bit and 64bit application and datasource.
64bit TWAIN applications will only work with 64bit DS.
You can still use 32bit TWAIN application and DS on a 64bit OS.The sample TWAIN2 application is a work in progress.

**************************************************Anyone seen a native 64 bit driver for a real scanner yet ?
Yes we have released already in May the first 64 bit TWAIN driver for one of our OEM customers.
Best regards,
KaijWhich scanner is this ? I haven’t seen any yet from the major manufacturers, Fujitsu, Canon, Panasonic …
RegardsI will check with my OEM customer if I can disclose that and share with by by PM.
Best regards,
Kai
@Jim Watters – I’ve looked at the link you posted, and I think from what you were saying, at the time, only the data source was there – is there a TWAIN2 application yet? twainkit doesn’t seem to work on our 64-bit Windows 7 machines, and I think I’m correct that installing the 32-bit or 64-bit msi’s in the link doesn’t actually install a TWAIN driver that can be recognized by 3rd party apps?
Thanks!
ChrisThe TWAIN sample at http://sourceforge.net/projects/twain-samples/files/ work fine for 64 bit Windows. We have tested our commercial 64 bit TWAIN drivers with the 64 bit sample app and we have tested our commercial 64 bit application with the 64 bit sample driver. So I confirm thre is a sample 64 bit application.
Best regards,
KaijThanks, Kaij! I think I’m still a bit confused – where is the sample app? The installers listed in this link do install “something” in Add/Remove programs, but neither the 32-bit nor the 64-bit actually install something that is seen as a TWAIN driver in local applications. Is there a link to installing the actual app?
Under the link I have posted there is a 64 bit msi installer. After installation you have a program called TWAIN2 Sample GUI app.
Also a 64 bit version of TWACKER is available.
Best regards,
KaijYou used to have a Twain ToolKit available that we used with our applications where we don’t have an actual scanner to test with. This does not work with 64-bit. I am also looking to see if you have plans to update the Twain ToolKit to run on 64-bit
they have TwainImporter virtual driver that is 64–bit http://www.scanworkssoftware.com/twainimporter.aspx
we got it and pretty happy with it
