Is the any sample in .NET like one found in C++ on the twain.org site
I looked at http://www.codeproject.com/dotnet/twaindotnet.asp
But How can I show a console in my application like one found in the driver interface which shows live feed from the attached camera. you know kind of a previewMany thanks.
as far as I know (and I’m pretty sure about this) there is nothing in the twain spec for video, if you are seeing a live video stream I believe you are seeing it from the vendor’s Ui. But if you see something in c++ and have the code I should be able to show you what it would look like in vb.net or c#.
.
When you say ‘without opening driver interface’, do you mean without showing the user interface from the driver? Wouldn’t you want to open that Ui at least once to configure how you want the scan? It seems that lots of people want automation, the ability to scan without setting up the parameters of the scan every time. That I understand. But to scan without ever opening the Ui never seemed to make since to me. I guess you could write your own Ui or store all the settings in an ini file but that seems.. I dunno. There is already a Ui provided by the vendor – a Ui that matches the capabilites of the device. It always made more since to me to open that device’s native Ui, setup the device they way I want and then save the settings for use later in an automated fashion.
Why don’t you want to open the driver’s interface?

YES. I see live video stream from the vendor’s driver UI, which gets invoked from the twain dotnet app pressing acquire button.

YES.

NO. I do not need the driver interface or diver interface specific functions. I only need to be able to access to basic functions, like selecting source, scanning multi pages with pressing a scan button one time or getting a live feed from camera so may do some still or video capture within my app. And some very basic configurations like, setting scan page size, color or gray scan etc.
Why don’t you want to open the driver’s interface?
Because, the devices will be accessed over network and the user will not see any driver UI in his pc: like accessing a network scanner from your pc and you like to have an UI where you can send commands to the network scanner.
But I really appreciate your reply.

everything except the video should be ok. There is not live feed in twain, the live feed you see if just a part of their Ui – now they might have provided access to that feed with a custom capability (I guess anything is possible) but if they do provide access to it with a custom cap, you’ll have to get information from the vendor about their custom caps.
I have an addition to the library in progress at the moment that may help with some of what you’re trying to do – I’m opening the library a bit to allow for lower level access to the triplets. You’re more then welcome to help if you want or wait until I have those changes in place. If you feel like helping out, contact me on the project’s homepage or my IM/PM/email.
