Hi,
I’ve set up the simulation mode of the Kodak scanner driver based on instructions from gabe found in this forum. This works principally very good.
In the ramscan.txt there is the possibility to use a “real” file instead of the generated one (the color stripes) by using
@image width length depth compression offset filename
But anyhow I have no success. Using a jpeg file with for instance
@image 1200 1200 24 6 0 c:test.jpg
leads always to a compression error (can be seen in kds.log).
Using a tiff file instead with for instance
@image 1200 1200 24 0 0 c:test.tif
leads to a garbled image.
I use following commands in the ramscan.txt file:
@init
@image 1200 1200 24 6 0 c:test.jpg
@stopI have tried the i30/i40 driver and the i150/i160 driver, both with the same (bad) result.
Have you ever used real files with the scanner simulation? If yes, could you please send me a proper ramscan.txt file or give me a hint what I’m doing wrong?
Many thanks in advance.
best regards
Maxsorry, don’t know you purpose of your operation. if you just need to emulate simple scanner with real images you can use this tool http://www.scanworkssoftware.com/twnimporter.html
but of course you won’t be able to setup Kodak params….
Hi Max,
I’ll be very interested if you have an answer as well, I never found the way to make it work with image files …

Does anyone know how to use simulation mode on the i1120? Or where I can get help?
I am trying to use the i1120 in simulation mode.
In const.ini I have setSimulation=true
Simmodel=i1120
But when I try to scan I get a no paper warning.
There was no sample ramscan.txt file installed for the i1120 , I tried coping the i30 and modifying it but no go.
