Hi,
I’ve looked around the forums, and couldn’t find an answer to this. Hoping someone can help or redirect me.
Our scanners were working fine, and then all of a sudden, we’re getting a “No scanner is found” error. It says that “There is a possibility that no scanner is connected, the connected scanner is not turned on, or the scanner is currently used by some other application“. Not sure why this is happeneing, I have a feeling that something changed on the network to affect all the computers. Is there anything I can check? The computers recognize the scanner, as it shows up as a device. We are able to scan using another driver, but cannot get the TWAIN driver to work. We’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and still doesn’t work.
Any ideas? I appreciate your time,
thank you,Jason
Hi Jason,
Did you try with Twacker? Does it detect your TWAIN driver successfully?
>I have a feeling that something changed on the network to affect all the computers
What is your application and scanner type?

http://www.dynamsoft.comHi Catherine,
Thanks for your response.
I just downloaded Twacker, and it detected it successfully.
We’re using ScandAll Pro with a Fujitsu fi-6130Z scanner.
Thank you,Jason
Hi Jason,
If Twacker can detect the TWAIN driver and scan successfully, it means the driver is fine.
You may try the suggestions in this kb articleand see if it helps you solve the problem. It’s meant for Dynamic Web TWAIN users which is a scanning SDK for web application but the issue should be the similar.
Let me know how it goes.

http://www.dynamsoft.comHi Catherine,
Thanks for the article. I’ve tried the suggestions, like starting the applications as admin and transferring the dll files, but still no luck unfortunately.
I think it’s an issue with the TWAIN driver communicating with our programs, as Twacker works fine. One of the errors says that perhaps something else is using the TWAIN driver. Is there any way we can check to see what is using the driver?
Would you or anyone else have any other suggestions?
Thanks,Jason
Hi Jason,
If Twacker can scan using your scanner, it means it is available. You can also use Twacker to check the states of the source.
If you can customize the code of your program, you may call CloseSource in your program before initilizing a new scan to make sure the source is not in use by other app.

http://www.dynamsoft.comHi..
I too had this problem (Scandall PRO Ver 2 with Windows 8, fi 6130z scanner not recognizing the scanner).
Symptom: The windows device manager lists the scanner but the Scandall program insists there is none! 🙄
What I did : browsed the folder C:Windowstwain_32fjscan32 and ran all the .EXE there as Administrator. All of them ran silently. But when I came back to the program and tried to choose the scanner, like a tamed stallion, it listed the scanner and it was so refreshing to see it listed 🙂
Not sure it will work next time, or work with others. And also not sure whether this is what made it to recognize. Anyway, this is what I did just before it got recognized.
Regards..
