Hi, I’m new to twain.
I recently purchased a film scanner that had bundled a software package. The scanner was fine but the software package rubbish. I want to use gimp to capture images but gimp does not recognise the film scanner. The scanner is advertised as such but in fact it is a camera. Vimicro USB 2.0 UVC. I have the latest driver download from Vimicro. I am using Windows 7. Incidentally when I open the capture window I get the message “The computer can’t start because VtwCtl.dll is missing from your computer”
Can you help at all?
ThanksHi,
TWAIN and UVC are two different specifications. If the device is UVC compatible, you need to make sure that the software (gimp) also supports UVC.
I checked online and found that gimp supports TWAIN compatible devices. Not quite sure if it also supports UVC. Maybe you can contact them to verify the information.
