This is a Windows 98 platform project.
I built the free application, in Visual Studio 6, with some fiddling with settings such as preprocessor macros. I downloaded and registered a driver for my old Paperport 3100USB scanner.
Application executed. I pushed the “Connect to Data Source” button, and a window came up with clients for results, info, etc. I pushed the scan button. Nothing happened.
I tried executing the free installer, and it wouldn’t execute on 98- wanted late version of IE, and .Net framework. Maybe you can tell me where I can get source and build it for 98.
Since I did nothing to identify the driver, maybe that was the problem. What canI do next?
Do I have to install the scanner software, somehow?
By the way, does anybody know where I can get the “bundled software” for the Paperport 3100USB by Visioneer? Visioneer just says it is an End of Life product. This need is what is driving the project- I thought I could roll my own.
