    Hi all,

I’ve implemented an Applet that make scanning request via driver TWAIN. I’m using Ricoh MP 161 scanner.

Looking the specifications of MP 161 scanner I can see that permit MultiTIFF scanning but when I try to set the Capability ICAP_IMAGEFILEFORMAT to TWFF_TIFFMULTI, it doesn’t work. The same with ICAP_COMPRESSION Capability, I can’t set this parameter to TWCP_JPEG or TWCP_GROUP4.

These are the two only parameters that can’t set, I can set Resolution, CAP_FEEDERENABLED, ICAP_SUPPORTEDSIZES, ICAP_CONTRAST, etc.

An other thing is that I would like to start manually the scanning process from the scanner, do you know how?

    Can you help me?

About the supported parameters, try running Twister

The rest of TWAIN is pretty complicated, but what programming language are you using to access TWAIN?
If it is C++, take a look at http://www.codeproject.com/KB/audio-video/twaintest.aspx

    Hello,

First of all, thanks for your reply.

I’ve used Twister to check what cababiltes suports the scanner, so I checked that multiTIFF scanning and TWCP_JPEG or TWCP_GROUP4 for ICAP_COMPRESSION is not possible.

The other thing that I’m still researching about how to start manually the scanning procees from the scanner, do you knoy anything about it?

    Best Regards,

    Hi,
Try to set ICAP_XFERMECH to TWSX_FILE first.
    Anyway check capability ordering here:
    https://www.twain.org/docs/CapOrderForWeb.PDF

Pay attention on the fact that for TWAIN drivers (<=2.0) should have slightly different order - ICAP_IMAGEFILEFORMAT is before ICAP_PIXELTYPE

    Best Regards,

Now for some people who are famous in some field such as the stars when they go out with their friends or other people. They are often being taken photos secretly by some journalists and they will only realize it until they see it on the newspaper or on the TV. Yes for the stars sometimes they do not mind so, as it is also a way to raise the popularity of them, but sometimes they also mind. However for most people as the normal working people and so on, for them being taken photos by the journalists or recorded down the things that they have said is not their willing and may even have band effect on their life. But if they are trapped in such condition now they can pick up the wireless jammer to help them.
