Hello!
I have one question: Is Twain network able? We have a Scanner with an IP in the network (it is a multipurpose maschine) have i got a chance to conect via Twain from my workstation to the scanner?
thx for the reply!
Florian Marquardt
TWAIN specification doesn’t mention about implementation. It’s upto the scanner vendor – the way it implements its scanner driver. If you want to use a scanner whose driver doesn’t provide this support then you’ll have to write your own client-server code for this.
Thx for the re.
Have you got any examples about the code you have said? I have no idea how to write a Client Server code for an Scanner….
thx
Dear Florian,
I don’t have any Client Server sample handy. You can read more about it here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Client-server andFor implementation, you need to use sockets. Search for socket examples on net, you’ll find plenty of them.
Hope this helps.
Hello,
What scanner do you have? I think you should enable “On-Line” functionality of TWAIN driver. It’s all that you should to do.
