Hi,
We are creating a application to use flat bed scanners to scan checks. When we scan using the flat bed scanners, we are receiving the scanner top cover slot image with the check image. we are using HP 4370 and this scanner has a slot on the top cover. We would like to know if there is any facility in the TWAIN driver to get only the check image and not the extra image. Thanks and Regards,
Ram.I’m not sure I understand the problem. Do you mean you are getting an image of the whole platen? In which case, you need to find out more about negotiating “image layout”. Or do you mean the image of the cheque is contaminated with “bleed-through” from the scanner cover?
Thanks for your reply. We are getting the image of the whole platen in addition to the check image. When you say negotiating the “image layout”, does this mean we need to set a predefined height and width so that the scanner captures only this portion. The Cheque image is not contaminated. We are getting a the cheque image and from the bottom of the cheque we are getting a black bar. Please let me know if you need more information.

Exactly. How you choose to do this depends on how you implement TWAIN in your app. If you were displaying the scanner software user interface, the user would do it, so presumably your application is controlling the scanner directly. If you have got as far as you have, you presumably are not implementing TWAIN directly? So you need to find out more about how your 3rd party implementation of TWAIN deals with image layout.
