I’ve been searching for companies that developed native 64-bit TWAIN drivers for their scanners, but I seem to only find drivers that work with WoW (I’m assuming those drivers are 32-bit). Is development of native 64-bit TWAIN drivers uncommon? Other than searching for drivers of various scanners, is there a centralized source where I could find this? This is anecdotal, but tech support people for scanner manufactures don’t seem to understand the difference between an OS’s bit version and the driver’s bit version. So I’m skeptical of the information they’re giving me.

    Jade,

We have developed native 64 bit TWAIN drivers for scanner manufacturers. Due to the nature of the OEM business we are not allowed to publish the names here in a forum. But I have approval to guide you by personal message.

    Best regards,

    Hi, Kaij

    A) You’re awesome!

    B) Do you need me to publish my email address, or can you pull it from the mail field from my forum post?

    Thanks.

I have Plustek 2420+ Twain Flatbed Scanner. There is no driver for this model for WIN 10 x64.

I am using a Mac with High Sierra 10.13.4 OS using a Brother MFC-9970CDW Scanner/Printer. The scanner isn’t recognized with this new OS and I think I need the 64bit TWAIN.

    Please advise. Thank you.

The 64 bit computers can run both 32bit programs and 64 bit programs. 32 bit computers cannot run 64 bit programs, because the bit sizes are fundamentally different. Latest Laptops with pre-installed Windows are usually x64 i.e. 64 Bit, old Desktops and Laptops could be having Windows x86 which means 32 bit.
