Hi friends,
In my project i am using jtwain for scanning. But i got stuck due to some problem .
Problem 1: In my project i want to set resolution of different pages to different level.
Problem 2: In my project i also want to scan one page gray scale and another page in black an white.Solution for problem 1:
As per advice given by admin of twain am ready to start my process of scanning from starting.
But i am not getting from where i should set twain source again to new resolution. Can u please guide for this problem.Solution for problem 2 :
I think if restart scanning process then we can achieve this also. Please reply as soon as possible. My project is stuck due to this.
Thanks in advance.
prop 1:
you’re outta luck, unless the device supports CAP_EXTENDEDCAPS. meaning that once your start the acquire there is not renegotiation of caps unless you and the source agree that it is ok (and use CAP_EXTENDEDCAPS fpr that) and so farprop2:
yeah, taking each page as a seperate job solves both of your problems.Hi gabe,
Thanks for reply.
I am developing project in java.As u mention in previous post can u please give me detail idea how to implement it.How can i implement job control can it be using CAP_JOBCONTROL constant or any other.
Now i am using kodak i40 scanner for scanning. It’s very urgent.
Thanks in advancesorry, I don’t take advantage of those features (jobControl or extendedCaps) in twain. you’ll have to read the spec, if I remember correctly there was an artice on ExtentedCaps toward to end of the spec. On the upside if you’re only using kodak scanners you may find that dualstreaming solves your BW & Color at the same time issue. For information on dual streaming look on the CD that comes with you kodak scanner and search the forum.

Hi gabe,
Thanks for reply,
In my scanning process administrator first set parameter for scanner. Then these parameter we have to set for scanner while scanning.
I am also struggling while setting resolution for image.
In my prescanning i will specify which page should have this resolution and also which page should be B&W and which page should gray ,and rgb. I have to set this through scanner programming For this i am using jtwain.
Please give me some more idea. It’s very important.

flatbed or with a feeder – are you manually placing all of the pages on the flatbed?

I have zero experience with jtwain, I usually just call the c functions directory or thru a custom wrapper.
sounds like you’ll want to build a job class (not the twain jobcontrol) can build a collection of those in your prescanning step – then in the execution stage execute each of the jobs.
