Hi,
I’m totally new to scanner dev and TWAIN. I have been asked recently to replace a tool (pixtools) we use in one of our .net application to scan documents by using directly the twain drivers.
It’s working but now I’m facing a new demand : the users want to be able to share the scanner accross the network. So one scanner will be connected to a computer and all users of our application should be able to access it. Honestly I dont even know if this has something to do with twain, I’m just a litle bit lost here. If I google “scanner wharing” I can find some tools, not free, but I dont know if it would feet my needs (accessing the scanner remotely through my twain application) and still I’ve been asked to developp something myself.
Any idea where to start ?
Thank you.
Is question still actual?
see remotetwain (http://remotetwain.com) or cloudscan(http://www.cloudscanapp.com), i think these can be helpful for your task
remotetwain is twain driver that allows to share scanner and use it from any twain application.
other is browser plug-in that can be integrated with custom solutions.i did a pixtools related work before and helped here, so integration should be easy
