Hello everybody,
I’d like to implement a simple image processing application for my webcam images. I use a Philips ToUcam that supports the TWAIN standard. I have tested the TWAIN_32 Twacker. Everything works fine. I can select the cam and I can acquire images. Now I’d like to write my own application that acquires 15 images per second, filters every image and stores them on harddisk. I’d like to do this with a simple C/C++ console application. Can anyone help me out?
Thanks in advance
arsllHi arsll,
I did some time ago such an application under Linux (videodev) and now I would like to switch to windows using Twain API.
I did similar tests as you did with twacker and eztwain.
I have a Philips ToUcam as well and it works fine with Twain, but only with the manufacturer’s GUI. When I suppress the manufacturer’s GUI to read the image data by myself and enable the data source (state 4->5), then I get an error with RC: TWRC_FAILURE and CC: TWCC_NODS. I have no idea why, since in state 4, I have initialized the required camera parameters as described in the Twain Spec. By the way, the same code works fine with my scanner to acquire an image. Are you still interested in programming your own image processing application? May be we can share our knowledge related to Twain and image processing. My be someone can help out here? Thanks a lot.
i’d like to help you with some of my scripts in image processing. the open source i am going to share i hope it can integrate with twain in processing images. i have included image filtering mode adjustment and other image manipulating fuctions like resize crop annotate and convert. hope it is helpful to you.
Here is an image processing library with TWAIN application avaliable acting as a important part of an image add-on. It is 100% written in visual c# language, containing almost widely used image processing functions, like image rotating, image filpping in vertial and horizontal direction, image cropping, image scaling in automatic or manual ratio and image thumbnail and watermark creations.
