Hi I am new to using the twain driver in applications. I have a sheet fed
scanner. I therefore have to feed a sheet into the scanner before i can can
scan the page. I am trying to scan documents without having to press
buttons on the device or in my application (scan start automatically when
paper is detected in feeder).I have written an application in VB where I repeatedly call the acquire
method until I stop it. The problem I have is that a error message box pop
up the whole time indicating that there is no paper in the feeder. When I
click on the ok button the message box disappear and the scanner tries
again with the same msg box appears.❓
Is there a way of suppressing the error that there is no paper in the feeder
or is there a better way of starting the scan process automatically when a
paper is fed into the feeder.Any help is welcome, thanx
You should look at page 4-27 of the TWAIN 2.1 spec – ‘Transfer of Multiple Images’. In that section on page 4-29 is a subsection called ‘Use of a Document Feeder’.
This will tell you how to tell if your scanner has one or more document feeders, how to select a particular document feeder, and how to determine if there is paper currently in the document feeder (or how to tell if your scanner is unable to tell you if there is paper loaded).
