Our bank is taking a very close look at consumer capture (CC).
CC gives Online Banking users the ability to make deposits via a scanner when they are logged in Online Banking.
A number of the providers use different technology to link their proprietary software to the scanner/TWAIN — from JTWAIN, java, activex, etc.
As you’d expect, our core competency is not TWAIN and the related issues with different web management tools, TWAIN (1.9 & 2.0) and O/S (Vista vs. XP and MAC).
Are you aware of 3rd parties that specialize in this space? We would like to engage a firm to help us evaluate the prospective vendor(s) technology, in terms of how will their software work today with the current scanners on the market, as well as it’s viability in the coming years.
Thanks in advance for you guidance.
I would like to inform you about Gnome company (http://www.gnome.sk). I am a member of that company.
Gnome offers Morena – Image Acquisition Framework for Java. It has the following features:
– Developer can use one common Java API and run Morena on all MS Windows (Twain), MAC OS X (Twain, Sane), Linux (Sane) os systems.
– As an example of it’s utilization, there is MorenaStudio web scanning solution included as a source code in the distribution package.
– You can try applets online:
