Hello
I am an sn¡panish university student who is trying to develop a software platform using visual C++. The objective of the platform is to comunicate with machine vision cameras of diferent manufacturers. I have been researching and I have noticed that twain interface is normally integrated in those cameras so using twain based orders to comunicate with the camera and adquire images should be a nice solution to my problem.
And after that my question is. Is there any dll that I can use in c++ and that offers instrutions for image adquisition in cameras? If Yes where could I get it?
P.D. Sorry about my English
Sorry, I forgot registering before, Wert is my user name.
i m looking for the same thing, opencv seems to be the answer
And what is or where can I find this “opencv” ?
Thank you for the links insilica.
I haven’t been investigating yet but it can be a good start. By the way, the real purpose of the aplication I want to develop is a some kind of framework that can adquire images from a camera, store them into a buffer and then show them into the aplication screen.
My next question is:
Is there any twain based dll or SDK that gives me the capability for showing the images I have previusly adquired and stored in a buffer? If yes, where could I obtain it?
Thank you
Well, I am back again.
I have tried the C++ Wrapper (the “twaintest” aplication) and I realized that this app in some way calls the TWAIN based app that brings my camera. The point is that if I use the camera with the TWAIN application the TWAIN interface that the camera offers me is very restricted.
Does this always happen with other cameras? I mean, if I want to use my camera using TWAIN am I forced to use the restricted interface that the camera vendor has implemented for TWAIN?
Best regards,
