I am not sure this is the right place for this type of discuscussion……but here goes.
I am having an issue on a Windows XP machine with a Fujitsu scanner. Basically, when I plug in my Fujitsu fi-6130 scanner into the machine, and install the drivers, it displays in My Computer as “fi-6130dj.” I then connect to a citrix session & twain-redirection will pass the drivers through to the application on my citrix server & I am able to scan. If this scanner’s were to be plugged into a different USB port, Windows displays this scanner as “fi-6130dj#2″…or “fi-6130dj#3” and my application on the citrix box does not recognize the new scanner name, because it is not the default source. Twain redirection does function, but I have to choose the new source “fi-6130dj#2.”
What I want to do is to make sure that the scanner on my local machine always show up as “fi-6130dj” on any USB port. This way, I will not have to alter any of the settings in my application running on my citrix server. Is this possible? Does this sound like a twain issue or a USB hub issue? Thanks!
I have already tried uninstalling the drivers & reinstalling them as well as removing all of the registry settings for the Fujitsu scanner. I even removed the folders in the folder under c:windowstwain_32.
You could try our product Twain activex(http://www.file-expert.com/twainx-activex.htm) and select scanner source by the source name by calling related method.
I’m having the same problem as breal1, also with Fujitsu scanners. We have many different scanners that connect to the environment but it seems isolated to Fujitsu scanners. Any ideas why the name would change in this manner?
