I am doing a project with 2 scanner one ADF scanner and one Flatbed which I interface from C# with dotTwain from http://www.atalasoft.com.

The ADF scanner works fine but the Flatbed scanner reports
“Data oarameter is out of supported range” is there any tool that I can use
to see what is happening in the twain layer ?
because when I use “Imaging for Windows” ActiveX controls the flatbed works fine, so maybe the dotTwain does som other kind of initialization.

The reason for not using the ActiveX controls is that you can not programatically control the scanner setup but must rely on the driver dialogs which is not suitable due to the kind of people that shall use the system.

Another question, is it possible to scan with both the ADF scanner and Flatbed both connected to the same PC or has twain some limits here ?

You can test the accepted parameter range with TWACKER from http://www.twain.org. If it works fine ther you should directly contact atalasoft.

To remote control the scan parameters you may use also other tools as TWAINCommander or Acquire.

You can operate both scanners on one PC but scan only with one at a time. The scan operation runs with the active source which is selected.
