I have an Estes rocket with an onboard camera. I have loaded the software (called TwainApp) and drivers for XP, but can’t get the application to run. It gives me an error “Unknown Return Code”.
I can run one to the capture programs also installed at the same time and can view the live camera feed, but can’t get the TwainApp to load to download the captured video.
Can anyone lead to me a solution?
I’m having the same problem with the Estes software. The title for the error message is:
DG_CONTROL/DAT_IDENTITY/MSG_OPENDS
Unfortunately Estes is not much help. Their documentation indicates the way to solve software problems is to uninstall and reinstall the software. After several of these sessions, nothing has changed.
Just poping in to say you’re not alone, same rocket same problem. love to hear of any solutions.
BobOK, not much help however…
Playing with the camera fo a couple of hours, trying all sorts of things, trying to download new drivers (without sucsess) etc. etc. It all started working! Can’t say what made it work ‘cos I didn’t really do anything different.
The only thing I may have done is play with the camera, taking different videos, deleting videos, turning it on and off etc. Maybe some combination of power cycling initalised it so it worked, I really don’t know.I will say the software is not good. It works but is rather cluncky looks like it was orignaly written for a 386 pc running win 3.11 in one of the pre-visual basic languages or the like. If anyone ever finds a nicer version please let me know.
Now going off to lighten the launch vehicle.
