SomayFinding twain API for linux system
SomayI am working on Ubuntu 16.04 and using fujitsu scanner for scanning documents. Scanner drivers for Linux has been taken from fujitsu site. Scanner has been tested using xsane, simple scan and scanimage. I have installed TwainDS and Twain Sample App and tried to run the application, application run successfully but there is one problem that is scanner is not populating in Twain Working Group app. This app imports pre-scan image and stores it on given folder.
Now my problem is how to use TWAIN API on ubuntu and how to access scanner on Twain Sample App? Please help me to solve this problem.
Regards,Kevin NealHi Somay,
In regards to your question of “Now my problem is how to use TWAIN API on ubuntu and how to access scanner on Twain Sample App?”
First, you can download the TWAIN Direct RESTful API specification here: https://twaindirect.org/specification/
Secondly, you will need the TWAIN Direct Bridge utility software. TWAIN Direct Bridge uses the scanner manufacturers existing TWAIN Classic driver and coverts into TWAIN Direct RESTful API.
Here is an architecture diagram of the solution using TWAIN Direct Bridge: https://p3idtech.com/twainworkinggroup/Retrofit%20USB%20scanner%20with%20TWAIN%20Direct%20Bridge.png
