I am considering buying a Fujistu SnapScan S500 scanner ($350 including a $50 rebate), however, the specifications say “(TWAIN/ISIS® not supported)”.
My question is: What am I losing by not have a TWAIN/ISIS driver for the scanner?
My guess is that I would not be able to reference the scanner from within a program like Microsoft Word, but I will still be able to use the scanner to capture images and can subsequently insert them into a document if I so choose.
yeah, thats pretty close. you basically dont get integration with other programs and you’ll have to use the Fujistu software to access the scanner.
