Currently I am getting the scanned image data in memory transferred mode in bmp format. Is this possible to get the compressed image data from scanner using twain? If yes please let me know the standard procedure to follow.
Thanks,
Yoga VSet ICAP_XFERMECH to TWSX_MEMORY, and transfer the images using DG_IMAGE / DAT_IMAGEMEMXFER / MSG_GET…
Alternatively, if the TWAIN driver supports it, you can set ICA_XFERMECH to TWSX_FILE and use DG_CONTROL / DAT_SETUPFILEXFER / MSG_SET and DG_IMAGE / DAT_IMAGEFILEXFER / MSG_GET to get a file on disk, but as said, not all drivers support this option…
I think it is yes. It is possibale to get the compressed image data from scanner using twain, because a TWAIN application can detect & define image compression modes, frame sizes, resolutions. Besides, the compressed image’s data can be saved to image or document file if the TWAIN tool supports further scanned data processing and reading.
