Shall we give up TWAIN Direct?
I cannot see how I can recommend vendors to invest into it.

Indeed in VB.net it is not that easy. As you also should handle the message loop for TWAIN messages.
If you are not interested in commercial tools please ignore the following but this command line tool is a great time saver.
With the command line scan tool TWAINCommander you can do all the TWAIN implementation with only a single call.
Here is a sampleSub Scan()
‘ TWAINCommander macro to scan into a TIFF file
Dim x%
x% = Shell(“twaincom c:windowstemptest.tif”, vbNormalFocus)
End SubSub SelectSource()
‘ TWAINCommander macro to select TWAIN Data Source
Dim x%
x% = Shell(“twaincom -t”, vbNormalFocus)
End SubBest regards,
KaijJavier,
I have answered you already by email. But to share it with the forum, the answer is in most cases no.
As you have asked for the use of the same MFP’s they have the same data source and .DS file.
So TWAIN DSM does not allow a selection. It can only be done in the TWAIN driver.
If the devices are connected by USB it is very unlikely that it is supported.
For IP connections it is not a hurdle but depends on the implementation of the hardware vendor. So it would be more easy to use different MFP*s with different DS files.

http://www.jse.deHello,
Your question is very Microtek specific. You might have luck that some user can help with his experience but it is not a general TWAIN issue.
You may try to contact Microtek direct for support.

http://www.jse.deKarsten,
Does it mean you like to develop a DS for a USB cam?
If so, Spike had once a sample code which is not supported (anymore) but maybe he is around and gives his 50 cent.If your question goes into another direction, please specify.

Spike is right. It is not possible when you use the standard dialog from the DSM.
Anyhow there is a different way. Create your own dialog, retrieve all DS names (MSG_GETFIRST/MSG_GETNEXT) and filter them string based before adding into the list box.

http://www.jse.deI am not aware of a list. But let us post Scanners that have 64 bit drivers. Here is a start.
All actual models from Neat http://www.neat.com

http://www.jse.deNo help really as there are several technical issues to overcome.
Typically TWAIN DS use the first recognized USB device of that scanner. I have never seen DS which allow a scanner selection by serial number.
Right now the only idea I have is to use a network scanner. Here typically the DS allows the IP address and you can choose one of your 4 scanners.
This allows you to scan with one of the 4 models at the time.
Parallel scanning via TWAIN is impossible.
Makes it sense?
Best regards,
KaijTWAIN does not define a place to store the IP address. It is vendor specific and should be located in most cases in the Windows Registry.
I have not checked that for your Ricoh machine but you should be able to find that out with Regedit.

http://www.jse.deYes, I have been aware of the Sourceforge third-party TWAIN DSM x64 utility for some time
The 64 bit DSM is no third party product. It comes from the TWAIN Working Group.
My post was really to ask for confirmation of that and any background for Microsoft not including TWAIN x64 support in Windows 64 bit.
I wondered if Microsoft might have been keen to push its own WIA x64 interface in place of TWAIN, which from what I’ve read is generally considered an inferior interface.
I cannot comment on the Microsoft strategy. But from performance and features WIA is no alternative to TWAIN.

http://www.jse.deI think I read somewhere that Microsoft and scanner manufacturers had agreed not to provide TWAIN x64 support under Windows x64… 🙁
That information is not correct. TWAIN supports Windows x64 from TWAIN version 2.0. onwards.
A 64 bit DSM and some good describtion can be found at http://sourceforge.net/projects/twain-dsm/files/TWAIN%20DSM%202%20Windows%2032%2B64/
As additional explanation: On a 64 bit Windows you can run 32 bit and 64 bit applications. 32 bit applications see only 32 bit TWAIN drivers and 64 bit applications can only use 64 bit TWAIN drivers.
Hope that helps you.

First of all TWAICKER is no production tool, trust you scanned the 600 files for testing.
But to answer your question, which TWAIN transfer mode have you used?Best regards,
