It sounds like the DS you’re using does not implement CAP_DEVICEONLINE according to the specification. Some DS’s do but some don’t. I remember one that showed an error message on MSG_OPENDS if the device was not there.
You will not be able to detect when the scanner is present if the developer of the DS you are using is unwilling to fix the problem.
deviceonline makes me sad. so very few drivers seem to support it, most seem to fail the check before openDs and then a dialogbox error when the device isn’t on.
it’s forced me to implement a messagebox eater to watch for dialogboxes and close them, such a waste..
Sorry, I deleted the user volodymyr by mistake. Please let me know if your ip address was also banned.

hehe, thats what you get – what with all the asking about portions of the spec that are under supported by a majority of the vendors and all.
but this beggs the question (and pls don’t delete my account or ban my ip for asking) – how are they supposed to tell you if their ip is banned (without connecting from a different ip that is)?no no no.
Just hoping that he has another computer! Sometimes I get a bit carried away with deleting users with the amount of -*pam this forum receives. Watch out, you might be next……… 😉
so the guy asks a question about being online and his account get deleted and his ip banned? irony anyone? anyone? Bueler?
