Hello,
I am new to TWAIN and I am writing a scanning app.
I have the software working and can scan images and save them. Great!
But, I am trying to scan UK lottery tickets on an A4 scanner and the image always has lots of whitespace around the ticket which I would like to try and remove.
Is this a function that can be done via the TWAIN drivers or do I have to do it with image manipulation please?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

You may first check if your TWAIN driver supports automatic border detection by showing the user interface or using TWAIN sample application.
If so, you can use ICAP_AUTOMATICBORDERDETECTION to turn on the feature.

Unfortunately my HP Photosmart 7520 doesn’t appear to support it.

If your TWAIN driver doesn’t support the feature, you may also use a OCR SDK to achieve auto crop in your application.
Have you ever found your way out?
Yes, you may check out whether your Twain or OCR reader support for ROI, which means selecting and scanning a part of the source image or document page. And generally speaking, an ocr scanning tool can fast, accurately extract text from scanned documents, convert images to text-searchable formats such as PDF, PDF/A, DOC, DOCX, XML, and XPS. Besides, it can recognize text from over 40 languages and character sets including English, Spanish, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic* and more
Hi, Foximage.
I do agree with you. Thanks for your nice sharing. An OCR component does matter on converters, like pdf to text conversion work on a pdf coverter. Do you have any good recommendation about the related pdf conversion sdk? Any suggetsion will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.Best regards,
Leeyou can use ICAP_AUTOMATICBORDERDETECTION to turn on the feature.
