I have a Check scanner which reads MICR. I have managed to retrieve the check image, but how i do i retrieve the MICR text which has been scanned.
Guys, pliz help as i am desperate and fast running out of time
Which scanner model and which TWAIN driver version are you using?
Regards,
KaijI am using CANON CR180. The Twain driver version is 1.7.1.1
Nothing on your extra image information loop ?
No custom capabilities ?
Beware also that some TWAIN drivers for Canon have been written by Pixel Translation (some for high speed scanners), so maybe you should try using ISIS interface or hack their driver a little bit …Can u assist with some code lines on how i can check the extra image info, or the custom capability.
Anybody out there? please help!!!
pick a language.
Language = English
ah yeah, good start. let me ask again, pick a programming language that you are comfortable with to provide the sample code in.
Last time I checked, it wasn’t possible to retrieve the MICR information from the CR-180 with TWAIN. I’d love to hear otherwise if this is not the case. I am currently using ISIS and Ranger drivers to do this.
I think you can also use the Canon native API if you want to go the process of signing an NDA with Canon and they think you’re worth the effort.
Language = I am comfortable with Visual Basic.NET
Is there an documentation on ISIS and Ranger drivers?
Ranger:
The documentation for the ranger drivers is available from Silver Bullet, the makers of the Ranger drivers. See http://www.sbullet.com/products_ranger.html The major drawback is the lack of a scanner UI. I had to build one from scratch.ISIS:
The ISIS drivers have a very nice UI, however, the ISIS drivers are fairly expensive both to develop and to use. See http://www.captivasoftware.com/products/pixtools.asp for more information. You can also purchase it through resellers like http://www.amicentral.com/pixtools/scan.html I think some other vendors like Pegagus Imaging also offer ISIS toolkits. you’re in luck. http://www.codeplex.com/opentwain
it’s an vb.net 2005 open source twain library with winform and console samples. imageinfo and extimageinfo are pulled during the scans.. if I remember correctly the extinfo outputs to the console (in your ide)… or it would if it weren’t commented out – it’s still there just commented out.if you have questions just ask (its my library)
.
I looked at the OpenTwain; its very impressive library, but i still cant see where the extImage info is being extracted
