Hello All,
I have to run java code on Mac OS X 10.7 to scan documents using HP LaserJet M1536dnf device.
I get the information about TWAIN specification that we need to have three components;
1) Application
2) TWAIN Data Source Manager
3) Data SourceI have TWAIN Source Manager.Shlb file in System/Library/Frameworks/TWAIN.framework directory and it is 2 KB size & sane.ds file in /Library/Image Capture/TWAIN Data Sources directory but this is not working for HP LaserJer M1536dnf scanner. Are these files correct OR should I try something else….
Thanks in advance.
Hi Mohammad,
Would you please be more specific about “this is not working for HP LaserJer M1536dnf scanner”? If you’ve installed the driver (for HP) properly on Mac, what about the TWAIN application? Which application are you using or is it a self-designed one? Has the plug-in installed properly?
You can also try the following demo for testing purpose and see if you can scan images successfully.

Thanks for the reply.
“this is not working for HP LaserJer M1536dnf scanner” means I am getting TwainException: Can’t open source(FAILURE, OPERATIONERROR)
And the application I am using is a window based java application & I am using morena.jar (from http://www.gnome.eu).On windows my application is working fine but I need to run the same on Mac OS X 10.7. Do I need to install some plugin for window base application in Mac? Please suggest.
